Given the extent to which the government has the say in who we can or cannot marry – who we can or cannot love – is discriminatory and unconstitutional. It is time for you to take back some of your life and to no longer be controlled by those who are suppose to represent and serve the people, for you are the people. The marriage equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is-a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure that every citizen is treated equally under the law. For which is why, I couldn’t agree more and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now. Start by writing a letter to your local lawmakers telling them that you wish to decide what is appropriate. Seek out organizations to join. Share and talk to your family, friends, and neighbors. It does not matter where you start so long as you do.
